Purpose of message:
Approaching the heart of God to understand how He loves us and to ask that we be renewed by His Holy Spirit, so that we can follow the commandment conducive to the New Life in Christ.

We will ask God to be healed so that we can love others as He loves us and loved us first, being able to love with all our hearts even our enemies.
Jn 3, 16 - 17 Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that every person that believes in him would not be lost, but have life forever. God sent his Son into the world. God did not send his Son to judge the world guilty. God sent his Son so that the world could be saved through his Son.

1 Jn 4, 10 True love is God’s love for us, not our love for God. God sent his Son to be the way that God takes away our sins.

• In order to love, we have to be loved first
• God teaches us how to love ... delivering what he loves most, his only beloved Son, for the salvation of the whole world
• God loves without being loved
• God loves without the beloved "deserving"
• God loves because He is LOVE

"Turn wherever you wish, you will find nothing but my mercy. I reach all my children, both the sinner and the saint.

To those who abandon me in their wickedness, when they return, I say to them: "I do not keep the offenses you have made me remembering them."
Imitate my love. Pray also for those who have become as for those who persecute me, so that I may have mercy on them. My mercy surpasses sin and death.

I give light and life to the just as to the unjust. In the heights of heaven my mercy shines in the saints. In the depths of the place of the dead, mercy tempers justice.
Mercy is the language with which I speak to you on earth. "
Jesus to St. Catherine of Siena

How does God love us?

Ps 103, 8 – 18 The Lord is compassionate and merciful. God is patient and full of love. The Lord does not always criticize. The Lord does not stay angry at us forever. 10We sinned against God but he didn’t give us the punishment we deserved. God’s love for his followers is as high above us as heaven is above the earth. And God has taken our sins as far away from us as the east is from the west. The Lord is as kind to his followers as a father is to his children. God knows all about us. God knows we are made from dust. God knows our lives are short. He knows our lives are like grass. God knows we are like a little wildflower. That flower grows quickly. Then the hot wind blows and the flower dies. Soon, you can’t even tell where the flower was growing. But the Lord has always loved his followers. And he will continue to love his followers forever and ever! God will be good to their children and to their children’s children. God is good to people who obey his Agreement. God is good to people who obey his commands.

·         • The unconditional love of God

Catechism of the Catholic Church 218:
Throughout its history, Israel was able to discover that God had only one reason to reveal Himself to Him and to choose it among all peoples as His people: His free love (cf. Deut 4, 37, 7, 8, 10, 15). And Israel understood, thanks to his prophets, that God also did not cease to save him (cf. Is 43: 1-7) and to forgive him his infidelity and his sins (cf. Os 2).

• God loves us as a Father to his son, even with love stronger than a mother
• It is a more tender and deep love than that of the husband to his wife
• An unconditional, eternally faithful love that overcomes our worst infidelities, which forgives our sins:

Isa 54, 8 I became very angry and hid from you for a short time. But I will comfort you with kindness forever.” The Lord your Savior said this.

• A genuine love, full, to the extreme ...:

God loves us with an exclusive but not excluding love: "The greater is a love, the more personal and exclusive it manifests itself. (...) The greater and true is a love, it becomes singular, unrepeatable, unique and irreplaceable. And although we speak analogically of God from our experiences of human love, because we could not express it in any other way; We can not forget that God has spoken to us of His love through profoundly human and understandable images. The biblical image of the love of God for each one of us has always been expressed in the most personal and irreplaceable love of marriage and marriage, as it appears in the Song of Songs and in the prophets. And he has fully manifested his love in the human face of Jesus, with a love that has given everything without reserving anything, even the scandal of the cross. (...) The madness of his love breaks all our schemes! "
Miguel Pastorino, in https://goo.gl/YNRCeA

1 Jn 4, 8 The person that does not love does not know God, because God is love.

What is the Love of Christ like?

Jn 15, 9 – 10 I loved you like the Father loved me. Now continue in my love. I have obeyed my Father’s commands, and I continue in his love. In the same way, if you obey my commands, you will continue in my love.

Eph 3, 18 – 19 And I pray that you and all God’s holy people will have the power to understand the greatness of Christ’s love. I pray that you can understand how wide and how long and how high and how deep that love is. Christ’s love is greater than any person can ever know. But I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with the fullness of God.

"Love until it hurts. If it hurts is a good sign"
Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Love and do what you want. If you are silent, you will be silent with love; If you scream, you will shout with love; If you correct, you will correct with love, if you forgive, you will forgive with love”

Matt 22, 36 – 39 The Pharisee said, “Teacher, which command in the law is the most important?” Jesus answered, “'You must love the Lord your God. You must love him with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and most important command. And the second command is like the first: 'You must love other people the same as you love yourself.’

The 10 commandments: clear instruction in the first 5 of how to love God and in the last 5 how to love others.
If we do not love ourselves, how can we love others? ... and how can we love God?
How can we love God if we have not felt His Love if we do not understand His Love?

"If you truly love your neighbor, you will feel the fire of my love within you, because love for your neighbor grows because of my love, for the recognition of my goodness in you.

When you feel ineffably loved by me, you will understand that you have to love as you are loved, that you are "bound" to love all my children with the same love with which you see that I love you.

Recognizing my love for you, you will come to understand that I love your neighbor with that same ineffable love that I have for you, and you will be like an echo of my love.
You can not, in any way, repay me the love I have lavished on you, if it is not following the path I have given you, serving me while you serve others.

I give you all my creatures, those that are far and those that are near. Assert them with the same pure love with which I love you."
Jesus to St. Catherine of Siena

Created to give and receive love

Catechism of the Catholic Church 356:
Of all visible creatures only man is "able to know and love his Creator" (GS 12.3); She is the "only creature on earth that God has loved for herself" (GS 24.3); Only he is called to participate, through knowledge and love, in the life of God. To this end it has been created and this is the fundamental reason for its dignity:

"What, or who, was the reason you established man in such dignity? Certainly, nothing but the inextinguishable love with which you contemplated your creature in yourself and let yourself be captivated with love for it; For love you created him, for love you gave him a being able to like your eternal Good" (St. Catherine of Siena, Il dialogo della Divina providenza, 13).

Jer 31, 3 “I love you people with a love that continues forever. That is why I have continued showing you kindness.

Youcat - Young Church Catechism
2 When a man loves, his heart overflows. He would like to share his joy with others. This comes from his Creator. Although God is a mystery, we can nevertheless think of him in the human way and affirm: he has created us from an "overflow" of his love. I wanted to share his infinite joy with us, who are creatures of his love.

Isa 62, 5 When a young man loves a woman, he marries her, and she becomes his wife. In the same way, your land will belong to your children. A man is very happy with his new wife. In the same way, your God will be very happy with you.”

Wounds and traumas for love...

Jer 17, 9 “A person’s mind is very tricky! The mind can be very sick, and no person truly understands it.

• Absence of gestational love
• Absence of love in childhood
Misguided teaching of love: must deserve love
Abuse, especially sexual, in childhood that confuses and damages the ability to understand love
• The effect of the biological father's love on our ability to understand the love of God
• Betrayal, disloyalty, infidelity
• Manipulation, pride, selfishness, possession
• Resentment, unforgiveness, abandonment

1 Jn 4, 18 Where ˻God’s˼ love is, there is no fear. Why? Because God’s perfect love takes away fear. It is ˻God’s˼ punishment that makes a person fear. So ˻God’s˼ love is not made perfect in the person who has fear.

• He who truly loves has no fear

Healed by love

Ps 51, 12 Your help made me so happy! Give me that joy again. Make my spirit strong and ready to obey you.

A new heart to love

Ezek 11, 17 – 20 But you must tell those people that the Lord their Master will bring them back. I have scattered you among many nations. But I will gather you together and bring you back from those nations. I will give the land of Israel back to you! And when my people come back, they will destroy all the terrible, filthy idols that are here now. I will bring them together and make them like one person. I will put a new spirit in them. I will take away that heart of stone, and I will put a real heart in its place. Then they will obey my laws. They will obey my commands. They will do the things I tell them. They will truly be my people, and I will be their God.’”

2 Cor 5, 17 If any person is in Christ, then that person is made new. The old things have gone; everything is made new!

• To be born again in Christ in order to love

Let us love one another:

"I want you to know that every virtue and every fault involves your neighbor. Anyone who does not love his neighbor, who does not help him, who does not pray for him, offends himself. Because to isolate yourself from your neighbor is to isolate yourself from grace.

If you do not love me you can not love your neighbor, and to exclude from your soul my love and that of your neighbor is to do evil.
Love for me in the form of prayers and wishes on behalf of others is a debt owed to your neighbors.

You are bound to help others by word and truth, by the example of good works and by responding in every way you can, to their needs.
Take care of them as you take care of yourself, unselfishly.

Not to love your neighbor depriving him of the good you owe him is to revile him, is to do him wrong. This is a debt that you have with all people, but especially with those who are nearer”.
Jesus to St. Catherine of Siena

1 Cor 13, 4 – 8 Love is patient, and love is kind. Love is not jealous, it does not boast, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, love is not selfish, and love does not become angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. Love is not happy with evil, but love is happy with the truth. Love patiently accepts all things. Love always trusts, always hopes, and always continues strong. Love never ends. There are prophecy, but they will be ended. There are languages, but those gifts will end. There is knowledge, but it will be ended.

"Saint Paul reminds us that the secret to keep us joyful in hope is to revive in our hearts the love of God. We are all sinners, but the Lord, who is rich in mercy, opens before us a path of freedom and salvation, which is the possibility of living the commandment of love, allowing us to guide the heart of the Risen One.
Catechesis of Pope Francis, March 15, 2017

1 Pet 1, 22 – 23 Now you have made yourselves pure by obeying the truth. Now you can have true love for your brothers and sisters. So love each other deeply—with all your heart. You have been born again. This new life did not come from something that dies. It came from something that cannot die. You were born again through God’s living message that continues forever.

“Love is the perfection of the spirit
And charity is the perfection of love”
St. Francis de Sales

"Love for me and love for our neighbor are inseparable. In the degree that you love me, this is how you love your neighbor, because the love of the neighbor comes from me. It's a gift that I make to you.
It is through the love of the neighbor that I rise in you, that your virtue grows.

The proof that you have me, is that you nourish my love in the soul of your neighbor, praying constantly for him, desiring my glory and the salvation of his soul.
In love with my truth, you must never stop serving my children, in their particular needs. Some will help you with words, others with the example of your life. Some will show them a certain virtue, others, something else.

There are many dwellings in my home, but only love will make possible the entrance, the love for me, that becomes richer when you love your neighbors.

No matter what your state of life; What if it is true, is that only by joining me in love, you can love and serve your neighbor. "
Jesus to St. Catherine of Siena

How to love our enemies?

"Your neighbors will show you your true character. In the good, they make good out; In the bad, the evil. The proud can not hurt a truly humble person.

Nor can the unbeliever shake the faith of one who truly believes. Your lack of faith can not diminish yours, but it will be strengthened if your heart is rooted in my love.

In the same way, patience, kindness, goodness, if they are real and true, will flourish in the place of the envy of others, of anger, of annoyance, of hatred.

Certainly, it is often true, that your virtue is not proved only when you return well for evil, but when you respond to hatred and rancor that nests in another heart, with the embers of your own burning love, which will extinguish your hatred.

Good can overcome an evil to which you respond with love and patience, with strength and perseverance, with resistance against those who want to take you away from my love”.
Jesus to St. Catherine of Siena

Lk 6, 27 – 36 “I say to you people that are listening to me, love your enemies. Do good to those people that hate you. Ask God to bless those people that say bad things to you. Pray for those people that are mean to you. If a person hits you on the side of your face, let him hit the other side too. If a person takes your coat, don’t stop him from taking your shirt too. Give to every person that asks you. When a person takes something that is yours, don’t ask for it back. Do for other people what you want them to do for you.” If you love only those people that love you, should you get some special praise for doing that? No! Even sinners love the people that love them! If you do good only to those people that do good to you, should you get some special praise for doing that? No! Even sinners do that!  If you loan things to people, always expecting to get something back, should you get some special praise for that? No! Even sinners lend to other sinners so that they can get back the same amount!” I’m telling you to love your enemies and do good to them. Lend to people without expecting to get anything back. If you do these things, you will have a great reward. You will be children of the Most High. Yes, because God is good even to the people that are full of sin and not thankful. Give love and mercy the same as your Father gives love and mercy.

The imitation of Jesus in order to love the enemies
Good always defeats evil - strategy for spiritual warfare.
Non-violent resistance
Ask for love in prayer to be able to love - ask for grace
Beware of responses
It is not optional, it is a mandate
• The response to all violence with love is a sign of being a true Christian and being mature in faith

Closing prayer…
1 Jn 4, 16 And so we know the love that God has for us. And we trust that love. God is love. The person who lives in love lives in God. And God lives in that person.
