Purpose of message:
This message will permit us to understand that God sees and values our tears. He feels our pain… He understands, and is compassionate of our circumstances.

We will understand God´s will as it relates to our pain and tears, and we will find God´s strength and comfort to be able to dry our tears and continue along on our journey through life.

Finally, we will pray for those who are unable to stop crying… knowing that God not only sees our tears, but he will bring peace to our hearts.

Opening prayer:  Is. 49, 14 – 16 But Zion said, ¨The Lord has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me. ¨Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. See, upon the palms of my hands I have written your name, your walls are ever before me. Your rebuilders make haste, as those who tore you down and laid you waste go forth from you.

Biblical Examples:

  • Mary of Magdala: Jn. 20, 11 But Mary stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb…  (v. 15) Jesus said to her, ¨Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?¨

  • Raising of the Widow´s Son: Lk. 7, 11 – 17 …As he drew near to the gate of the city, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. A large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, he was moved with pity for her and said to her, ¨Do not weep. ¨He stepped forward and touched the coffin; at this the bearers halted, and he said, ¨Young man I tell you, arise! ¨The dead man sat up and began to speak and Jesus gave him to his mother…

  • Mary -- Lazarus and Martha´s sister:  Jn. 11, 32 – 36    When Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said to him, ¨Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.¨ When Jesus saw her weeping and the Jews who had come with her weeping, he became perturbed and deeply troubled, and said, ¨Where have you laid him?¨They said to him, ¨Sir, come and see.¨ And Jesus wept….

Psalm 126, 5 – 6 Those who sow in tears will reap with cries of joy. Those who go forth weeping, carrying sacks of seed, will return with cries of joy, carrying their bundled sheaves.

  • Hannah´s Prayer:  1 Samuel 1, 10 In her bitterness she prayed to the Lord, weeping copiously, and she made a vow…

  • The relationship between anger and sadness – especially in relation to past offenses and traumas

  • Why we cry?

  • One can not always control the circumstances, but we can choose how we react and to whom we turn for comfort and guidance…

Psalm 56, 9 My wanderings you have noted; are my tears not stored in your vial, recorded in your book?

Trust in the Lord at all times…

Closing prayer:  Psalm 34, 2 I will bless the Lord at all times; praise shall be always in my mouth.  …I sought the Lord, who answered me, delivered me from all my fears. Look to God hat you may be radiant with joy…
